DVD Movie Review - Fools Gold
As an 18 year old male, I love watching dvd movies with friends. Fool’s Gold was a surprising good movie, which says a lot coming from a teenage boy!
Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson make an outstanding pair, with unprecedented humor and sex appeal. Both McConaughey and Hudson appeared together in How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, where they proved to be electric on screen.
The plot line was somewhat cliche, but it was fast paced and easy to stay interested. It’s hard to work with a treasure hunt, especially with the Pirates movies currently setting the standard pretty high. However, the modern approach in this movie is as refreshing as you can hope for. While I'm sure some so called movie critics will disagree, calling this a bad movie or very predictable or really just panning it because Mr. Shirtless Matthew McConaughey is in it.
This is obviously geared towards women, with the hot romance aspect of it. However, it finds a huge audience by incorporating a daring treasure hunt with multiple action scenes, laugh-out-loud humor, and a beautiful cast. The director Andy Tennant sets the proper tone for this movie.
There’s even subtle humor, playing at the technology and luxury dependent world that we’ve fallen into as Americans. Gemma, the daughter of billionaire Nigel Honeycutt, illustrates how young adults are too focused on technology and money, when more important things are right in front of them. I succumbed to the very occasional charms of this fair, good-natured romantic comedy adventure and I finished the movie in quite a good mood.
Since it's more silly than romantic and more frantic than comedic the
dvd movies is literally perfect for all ages and types of people. I recommend looking for this one next time you’re browsing dvds at your rental store. |
